I’ve always been partial to Cadbury’s Creme Eggs and for the past two weeks, I’ve been buying boxes and bringing them into the office, exhorting my colleagues to “eat them while they are still British”. The background for this was the announcement that the Conservative Party intended to commit to the idea of rewarding married couples through the taxation system.
